Admission Requirements

 

College Education Regulations Policy 

  

To be admitted to a program leading to a Diploma of Collegial Studies  (DEC) , the candidate must meet the following two conditions:

 
 
1. Hold a Secondary School Diploma (DES). The Minister of Education may require the candidate to complete remedial courses if they have not successfully completed the number credits in the following subjects
 
            1. Secondary V Language of Instruction
            2 . Secondary V Second Language
            3 . Secondary IV Mathematics      
            4 . Secondary IV Physical Science or science
             5.  Secondary IV History of Quebec and Canada

or

Holds a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) and has completed the number of credits in the following subjects:

            1 . Secondary V Language of Instruction   

             2 . Secondary V Second Language 

            3 . Secondary IV Mathematics

or

Holds an instruction deemed equivalent by the College.

or

Holds an instruction and experience deemed sufficient by the College and has interrupted his full time studies for a cumulative period of at least 36 months.

The person, who has not completed all credits required for a DES , must sign an agreement with the College regarding completion of the missing credits during the first semester. The same applies to the holder of a DEP who has not completed all credits on the subjects mentioned above.

However, a candidate will not be admitted on condition who must complete more than 6 missing credits or who having been admitted conditionally, has failed to meet their commitments.
